Summer Cycling in Commonside

Residents in the Commonside area of Mitcham will be getting on their bikes this summer with help from Commonside Re:Cycle.

The Re:Cycle project, run by the Commonside Community Development Trust and Pollards Hill Youth Club, aims to help young people learn bike maintenance skills and then transfer this new knowledge to others in the community. Commonside Re:Cycle hopes that young people will benefit from learning these useful skills and increase their confidence as they are trained how to teach others. There will also be an opportunity for some young people to gain qualifications through the project.

Over the summer MCC will be working with Re:Cycle  to run family cycle rides from the Commonside area, and family bike maintenance workshops will be held monthly to make sure everyone has the chance get cycling.

The Commonside Re:Cycle project will be fixing bikes at the Commonside Environment Day on Saturday 23 July in Pollards Hill. The Environment Day will be a great opportunity for everyone in the local area to find out more about the environment in fun and creative ways.

If you want to get involved in Commonside Re:Cycle or would like more information about the Commonside Environment Day please call Suzanne on 020 8764 5896 or email suzanne@commonside.net
