New cycle parking at SavaCentre

The Sainsbury's SavaCentre in Colliers Wood has recently re-opened and now has state-of-the-art cycle parking for shoppers.

Where, previously, cycling shoppers had to lock their bikes haphazardly to railings outside the shop, there is now a total of 30 cycle stands (providing for 60 bikes), a third of which are located undercover on the edge of the car park by the hypermarket entrance.

Cycling is the ideal way to make short local trips in Merton. There are many cut-throughs, particularly in the Colliers Wood / South Wimbledon area, which make the bike a much quicker and lower-hassle alternative to driving.

Do you know of any excellent new cycle facilities (e.g. new routes, new parking etc) that you would like to tell other people about? New cycle facilities are often under-publicised so please contact MCC if you know of any in the Merton borough.

Potholes? Broken glass? Overgrown weeds? Faulty street light posts?

Fed up with potholes appearing on the roads throughout the Borough of Merton? Annoyed with the pieces of broken glass that may well increase the chance of punctures to your tyres? Tired of litter obstructing the bike lanes / paths / footway / alleyway? Are overgrown weeds or needles obstructing the cycle lanes? Faulty street lightposts?

If the answer is yes, then here's a chance to get the Council to fill in the potholes, sweep the broken glass away and uproot the rotting weeds. For local roads (not Red-Route roads or TfL Red Route A roads), these are the ways of contacting the Council to help make a safer, cleaner environment.
